A human and a human and a human is still a human

From within 2017 and 2018 and beyond

In 2017, 2018 and + the world is crazy again. There are so many transformations and shifts and so many proven and reliable conditions are subject to reconfiguration. This is a usual process and it happens at least every 3-5 decades. It is a process of accelerated speed and transitions.

Especially in politics so many people from all political orientations in so many countries are upset, in anger or even beginning to be violent – as if this is the end of the world and there will be no future.

In a way it is funny to observe and watch these developments because it is very clear that there will be a future and that there will be other political developments and that this is (probably) not the end.

Especially radical left-wing and radical right-wing movements behave and communicate as if the world is burning and as if the planet is about to explode. – Well, the planet is quite ok. The recent centuries brought basic riches to so many people all across the globe – regarding economics, health, communications and participation. But finally, there is still so much suffering.

Nevertheless, small steps are steadily taken and the world is becoming better and better bit by bit. It might not be a totally wrong bet to assume that today human rights are applied on a global scale like never ever before.

But still: Many people do not feel belonging – in some cases because of ineffective economical and societal structures and in many cases because of insufficient societal and political management processes.

Today, many governmental strategies are still based on ideological theories that do not relate to the real problems of the real people in real societies. So many people still think that the world is a doll house that can be transformed into a completely new state of being by only thinking of a new world or by only fighting for a new idea.

But yes, the world is old. And humanity is old. It doesn’t change because some radical minds want it to change. Change is a process of time, it is a self-proving process of reliablity and certainty. If one wants to make the world a better place it is probably better to listen to the people and their needs instead of trying to implement fantastical concepts about a potentially glamorous future that have almost no correlations with the real world and the real people.

There might be so much excitement about the future of societies and there is so much neediness regarding change at the moment but things will develop slowly and not every aspect that stands out and appears to be important today will be a part of the life of tomorrow.

Things will change on a steady basis and there are two different ways of fast pace: The one that succeeds and the one that gets lost. To capably deal with the actuality of societies is a great challenge already. Time shows that sudden artificial changes are destabilizing societies in many cases. This is why extremists of any couleur are taken out of the equation on a regular basis: They belong to the category of fast pace that gets lost.

For about 3 million years – since the invention of the acheulean hand axe – we haven’t changed very much. We still live on the same planet, we still use rocks, stones, ores, sand or (lately) rare-earth elements for our housings or technologies. We still reproduce biologically, we’re still having disputes about the most simple matters, we still kill each other in order to achieve something, we still do not know why we are here and alive, we still wander around in almost complete intellectual darkness.

So – what to say about 2017 and beyond? Maybe humanity will  take the next very big step soon – the first big step after the acheulean hand axe. Maybe humanity will develop a self-conscious machine intelligence. Well, this would definitely change things. This would be the first new development in 3 million years. Perhaps this was and is our purpose. Perhaps this was the reason why billions of people were born into this world, walked over this world, gave their energies into the process and were replaced on a consecutive basis:

To accumulate knowledge* and to finally create a new species that is able to go further than us – intellectually and on a long-term basis – without the huge amount of burned ressources that are typical for humans and their silly fights – when even the tiniest steps consume disproportionate amounts of ressources.

*
Well, maybe in 1848 Marx and Engels were right with their idea about the accumulation of money and ressources and their concept that one part of humanity stands against the other. But of course they were not factually right because even in 1848 there was sufficient scientific, social and anthropological data, that this is not the “final” or most important conflict and that the line of interhuman conflicts is shifting on a daily basis. There was an inappropriate and inhuman treatment of workers but this was a specific effect of this time that they effectively helped to lower, yes, but the mass murder that was following their radical ideas was more than just a “contrary” effect and its destructive ideology is hurting or even killing millions of people until today.

Almost the whole 20th century (communism, fascism, Lenin, Hitler, Stalin, Mao and other stuff like this) was an intellectual loss, except from the introduction and establishment of the binary concept of computation and some very inspired ideas from the 1900s to the 1920s.

It’s a pity that we who live in the early years of the 21st century still have to live in and to suffer from the shadows of already lost and disproved ideas of the mostly dark 20th century. It is even worse that these shadows still infect so many people all around the globe with their negative and destructive intellectual poorness.

All in all we’re standing at the threshold of a bright new century. And some of us already managed to step over this threshold. From this point of view it is a better idea to live in areas of the world where the new world is understood as a possibility, instead of living in parts of the world that still try to suck in the old and used air of yesterday. (Such as.., well, you know)

Wow! Bash, boom, bang!

The Wow World

In the Wow-World one can live his or her life according to her or his inner needs. The Wow-World is a space in which mediocre minds are simply not existing. No one has to deal with averagely talented and violent governments, teachers or parents and it doesn’t matter to whatever cult these people belong to or believe in.

The Wow-World is a free world. A world in which everyone knows that he or she will die and that because of this any kind of ideology is a form of hubris.

The Wow-World allows people to connect across borders and societal concepts. From the very moment when people began to understand themselves as being subject to transformation in time they also started to notice that the world is developing itself on a greater stage than only inside the very space of their individual perception.

We do not know many things about ourselves. In fact, we are just following the expression of the things that we create along the path of our own history. We are following our ideas, our technologies, our inventions. We copy the knowlege of our ancestors, we take it and hand it over to our descendants in schools, universities and companies. This way we are transferring human identity and understanding through time. Each generation is used as a medium in which data is stored, transformed, developed and transmitted.

This ongoing process is a matter of fact. At some time we began to recognize this process and ourselves as being a part of it. Probably we should identify and value this self-perception of ourselves inside the very process as an appreciation of the process towards us or even towards itself – we being a part of the process.

Everything that happens in this world – across all boundaries, political systems, religions, agreements and disagreements – is a part of one ongoing procedure. Once you decided to swim in it instead of taking its characteristics for too real, you will be in the Wow-World which is simply breathtaking! :-)

A tool that derives from a hand axe

The Relevance of the Acheulean Hand Axe | Artificial Intelligence

[UPDATE: March 2018]

We are much less innovative than we think. Our societies are still very much based on our probably 1st invention – if we have invented it: The Acheulean hand axe.

This tool has serveral functions that we apply and use until today across almost all of our technological work: hunt, kill, cut, share, devide, form, shape, draw, count, throw, hit, shear, sharpen, safe, heat, adjust, set and so on. – Just one basic tool – until today. Probably our mental/cognitive ability to categorise the world – to cut it into (mental) pieces – also derives from this tool.

Maybe everything that we have ever created derives from the Acheulean hand axe. One intelligent mind can connect every piece of science to it. This very fact is opening a new space regarding the definition and understanding of human intelligence: This very thesis is: Human intelligence is extremely limited. We just follow one idea of creation and have probably no idea of all the other forms of intelligence that can evolve and express themselves over and in time and space. We should be very happy about our acheulean cognitive abilities and that they last for so long.

At the same time we should be aware of the fact that regarding the machines and the software that we are creating today:  There is no justification to reasonably establish such a term as “Artificial Intelligence”. There is nothing artificial about intelligent machines. They naturally derive from the human brain and so they are natural in any way.

Most anthropologists know: Our tools are nothing else than copies of the nature around us and our machines are copies of the nature around us as well. We are subject to evolutionary development processes that just began to enter a new level and our brains are following this process like dogs who are in love with their human partners.

This also explains why we still “need” wars and fights and deaths all around the world: Hand axes are foremost made to kill and this is the path that we are following because our brains still create violent solutions just because of their informational infrastructure.

This time-based path of development is permeating our societies intensively until today. It’s the path of our brains to (very often) prefer and develop (today and over the eras) very specific possible expressions of human motion because our brains were and are still organized to do so. This is rather an anthropological/biological issue than a political one.

It’s about the infrastructure of our minds and not about temporary concepts such as communism or capitalism. This is about our minds that still apply very basic functions to an extraordinarily huge number of people because the very shift towards the new cognitive intelligence is consuming a lot of time and energy and obviously world cannot provide this energy on a shared and common basis. – This is why political efforts regarding this matter don’t work.

Maybe there are inspirired possibilities and maybe there is something like a solution. But a possible solution won’t be based on ideology. Ideology is rush and misunderstandings and it doesn’t provide sufficient intelligence.

Maybe it will be machines that will achieve the final drift.

The very inspiration of evolution I

Evolution is a process. A process that does not stop when human dictators or parliaments say “stop”.

Our world is only a small evolutionary section or notch of what evolution is all about. We’re just a small part of history. There is no human being who fully understands evolution. Because of this we developed religions like Buddhism – a religion that tries to understand evolution from the inside. – A religion that probably is understanding evolution very successfully.

Nevertheless there is the motion of the world. And no one of us has any idea where it is headed to. The motion of evolution is faster than the development of the human brain and faster than any technology that we as humans are able to develop.

When we begin to “invent” things such as “prediction” it is because the very nature of evolution wants us to develop things like this. Our brains are re-adapting to the motion (the algorithm) via the environments that surround us. We think we have an idea but perhaps we just act according to our brains which are creating a new solution (and a next technological step) in regard to the changes / the information that is transmitted to them on the basis of our senses / sensors.

We as humans are mostly the very ants of future. We are constructing and creating the future that we have to develop. We are controlled by evolution in an awesome and very precise way. Our minds are subject to the term that we call “time” although even our nuclear physicists do not even have any idea of what the very inner particle that defines ourselves is all about.

Maybe the infrastructure of the brain can only develop and create a certain kind of technology. And if the process of life would be repeated on another planet under identical chemical and biological conditions probably the result would be a very similar species with a similar technology. We should not forget that our development process hasn’t come to an end yet.

Therefore the world is maybe nothing else than a big lab. A very temporary pattern of time and existence. A very temporary interconnection of idea, form and matter. Maybe the very famous “meaning of life” doesn’t apply to a single person but rather to the whole species.

Maybe one single satellite of meaning – sent or configured by another intelligence (or on the basis of our own intelligence) – has been reconfiguring our understanding of meaning a 20,000 our 100,000 years ago.

In a possible future

About power

[thoughts on the evolutionary* algorithm]

People think that power is one of the most relevant achievements in a human life. With power you can change societies, politics, development processes and yes – almost everything. There has been this influential thinker named Karl Marx who expressed that power and money are correlated. And there are billions of people following this analysis. But Marx was wrong in so many ways, especially when he thought that the “system” we are living in has been consciously created by humans themselves.

Recent neuroscientific research is indicating that the classical understanding of consciousness or the free will cannot be taken for granted anymore. At the same time it is very important to take into account that – even if there is a relevant influence of the “free will” on the decisions that we make – the human brain learns and develops its mental structure on the basis of environmental input. The behaviour of people – our decisions and opinions – are highly connected to what we learn and how we are taught to classify what we learn.

Power is just one expression of the human mind. It is a relevant part of the algorithm that – socially and materially – forms and transforms the world. The anthropological algorithm in its full power supersedes any temorary motion or movement that is gaining attention in order to control the world on a long-term basis. It is more likely that all of us are subject to temporary evolutionary* developments. Any human design of a society will be subject to change.

Billionaires may think that they can change the world. At the same time they mostly don’t understand that their behaviour is part of the evolutionary or anthropological algorithm that is developing the world permanently. At the same time people who think that they fight against billionaires – and the term named capitalism – don’t know that they are part of the algorithm as well – they are functioning as expected and when they become aware of it and change their behaviour this is expected as well.

Everyone is controlled by evolution. Everyone is subject to development processes as a certain and important part of evolutionary changes.

Disputes and arguments are a part of the everyday transformation. The entire structure of motion and its intimate details can be seen and observed in every situation, at every place, in every time right here on this planet. (The film “Matrix” was a popular visualization of this possible interpretation.)

Power is just a part of how evolution is structuring life on planet earth. And yes: Powerful people can kill other people (there is no talent needed to kill other people but there is talent needed to be a relevant part of a future society or to substantially change societies in a positive way). Throughout history humans were trying to change human societies – and human societies were actually changing – but maybe all the changes and processes were induced as a result of the motion of the anthropological algorithm.

Yes, power can change the world and create future. But maybe power is not in the hands of human beings – probably it is in the hands of evolution which is using people to apply changes to the world according to her/his/its inner algorithm (the evolutionary algorithm).

. . . . .

* In this text “evolution”  is not defined in the classical way. The author of this article does not differentiate between “nature” and “culture” – as it is often done. The opinion of the author is that evolution accelerates its speed on the basis of the human brain and what many people call “culture” is a very part of “nature”.
