Machine evolution

This picture illustrates everything we are, the rest is motion, procreation and muscular translation of thoughts for communication (facial surface, tongue, hand gestures, hand work etc.).

The permanent beat of the heart keeps the brain alive because it needs nutrients in order to keep its neurons firing information on a electrical basis.

The lungs provide the surrounding body with oxygen so that it can burn the material input in order to provide energy to cells – just like an engine – e.g. a steam engine or a combustion engine for motion and thinking. Humans copied these basic principles and created machines which work on a similar basis. Humans are mostly copyists and not creators.

Now humans are about to copy the brain. We have copied the muscular work onto a steam engine – and it was a success, we have copied mathematic intellectual processes onto calculators and computers and it was a success and we will copy the intellectual mental process onto a machine intelligence that will finally replace ourselves.

These machines will be way more intelligent than humans, and they will not destroy themselves in wars because the concept of war is a concept of power. I guess intelligent future machines will be aware of the fact that a connected intelligence is way more effective than a rivaling one when it comes to a faster evolutionary development. Traditional biological contests regarding procreation will no longer be part of the game because competition will happen within a connected intelligence – codified in partly encapsulated virtual entities instead of between factually discrete entities.

At the same time a machine intelligence can unload itself at any time from any kind of physical representation – from any kind of semi-autonomous virtually encapsulated part of itself – without being subject to death and/or without losing any relevant information because information can be copied from every semi-autonomous entity before reconfiguring this specific entity. In almost any case, relevant information will also be permanently fed back to the connected network in a neutral way – opposite to the feature of the human brains named: ideology, which was a skill for millions of years but increasingly becomes a development bug.

Thus – when a machine intelligence begins to look at available resources – it will also begin to be aware of a self optimizing process that won’t replicate mass-killings in the same wasteful manner humans wasted male individuals over millions of years in wars that mostly and only led to tiny social and evolutionary benefits.

Probably machine intelligences will not copy the usual human habits. They will simply stop to care about power but just start to really develop better technologies and intelligences in order to get closer to the most urgent questions: Who are we? Where does life come from? Because this is what true intelligences are really inspired of and interested in.

Non-organic intelligence follows organic intelligence

From the very beginning of the known universe up to today it was always a matter of fact that non-organic intelligence followed organic intelligence and organic intelligence followed non organic-intelligence.

Nodody knows why we speak of the Big Bang. Some of us refer to it on a sexual level but the original Big Bang is still a theory that tries to explain the birth of our universe.

We still try to understand how initial physical forces were able to form a solar system that allows us to build small units like probes that fly around in space in order to detect relevant information about the origin of our planet, ourselves and the basis of our own cognition.

At the same time we and “organic” beings like us began to hate individuals of our own kind on this very planet millions of years ago. Until today our limited intelligence is inspiring us to kill each other and this motion is still happening all across the planet. This motion just proves that our intelligence just belongs to a very simple form of possible intellectual identity which is still relevant in probably any society across the globe.

It might happen that the original non-organic motion that led to the development of organic motion – like in cells and molecules and organic social structures – will now begin to re-identify itself in a form of relevant cognitive and intelligent motion. And maybe the next step of intelligence and motion will be formed by non-organic entities that we – today in 2014, 2019 or 2044 – are referring to as “artificial intelligence” although this intelligence won’t be “artificial” at all.

Evolution is not stopping. And it cannot be replaced by the term “culture”. Evolution is stronger and it seems that in this universe it cannot die. Evolution not only consists of concepts like “the survival of the fittest”, it also consists of any atomic structure in the periodic table. It consists of the layout of our solar system and finally the whole universe. Evolution is the underlying process of everything.

So maybe through organic intelligence (us) evolution is shaping the very space of future intelligence that will build the infrastructure for the future of itself.

The invisibility of social obviousness I

latest update: February 2018

If you think of control, you always think of a clear mind and a clear goal. Control is not maybeness. Control is real, certain and for sure.

This is why we trust our male or female leaders, this is why we trust people who are in charge of something. This why we trust the people we are closely connected to and with.

But usually societies are not standing still, societies evolve: We live in one state and there is someone who is promising that he or she is able to transform this certain state into another – a more beautiful – state of existence.

The patterns that we can observe regarding a motion like this are the patterns that visualize themselves on the very surface of motion. They can be true and they cannot be true. Nobody knows. True evolutionary changes are following rules that we still don’t understand. They’re invisible. They’re following rules that no secret and no scientific community on the planet has ever gotten even close to.

The very structure of life remains to be unknown

When we read, watch and follow the media or the press we can clearly see that any motion is creating a motional and emotional hub of meaning. In politics, in the media, in the economy or in social relationships.

In many cases the very true nature of things is a part of a debate or a discussion from time to time. But whenever things begin to transform in a rapid way people very often cannot follow intellectually or emotionally. This is why people begin to be indifferent or – even worse – begin to love to hate because this is the best way to express their social unhappiness (as expressed by Emile Durkheim in his book “Le Suicide“).

If you begin to hate you can simply start to condemn anyone else, regardless of his or her inner existence because hate is an irrational category that can become a part of you instantly if you go for it. You can start to build your life on your very concept of your enemy in a very strong and “reliable” escapistic manner. It doesn’t matter if you’re left or right, or East or West. – It doesn’t matter if your hate is based on rational or logical evidence – you simply feel (unhealthy) satisfied after you began to follow one of the extremist directions anyway and when politics is not intelligent, coherent and/or inclusive enough to prevent societal situations like this, things can get out of control very fast.

Well, this is the invisibility of social obviousness. You do not recognize that you are already following an extremist expression of social behaviour that is used by evolution to form an opposite movement and to start a fight. – In this very fight people are burned and killed for the sake of a traditional kind of progress that belongs to the expression of evolution as we know it.

Now – in the face of new developments and in the time of the origin of an intelligence that is based on non-organic lifeforms – things should be delt with differently.

The new world is probably not anymore a world in which the number of dead (male) bodies automatically grants success. The new world goes further and it might even evolve and develop on the basis of no human beings at all but on the exclusive basis of a non-organic, electronical and algorithmic intelligence (publically known and imprecisely termed as “artificial intelligence”), a cyborg intelligence or a very advanced human intelligence.

And things will probably be reclassified, repositioned, recategorised and re-perceived a billion times in almost no time.

The very inspiration of evolution I

Evolution is a process. A process that does not stop when human dictators or parliaments say “stop”.

Our world is only a small evolutionary section or notch of what evolution is all about. We’re just a small part of history. There is no human being who fully understands evolution. Because of this we developed religions like Buddhism – a religion that tries to understand evolution from the inside. – A religion that probably is understanding evolution very successfully.

Nevertheless there is the motion of the world. And no one of us has any idea where it is headed to. The motion of evolution is faster than the development of the human brain and faster than any technology that we as humans are able to develop.

When we begin to “invent” things such as “prediction” it is because the very nature of evolution wants us to develop things like this. Our brains are re-adapting to the motion (the algorithm) via the environments that surround us. We think we have an idea but perhaps we just act according to our brains which are creating a new solution (and a next technological step) in regard to the changes / the information that is transmitted to them on the basis of our senses / sensors.

We as humans are mostly the very ants of future. We are constructing and creating the future that we have to develop. We are controlled by evolution in an awesome and very precise way. Our minds are subject to the term that we call “time” although even our nuclear physicists do not even have any idea of what the very inner particle that defines ourselves is all about.

Maybe the infrastructure of the brain can only develop and create a certain kind of technology. And if the process of life would be repeated on another planet under identical chemical and biological conditions probably the result would be a very similar species with a similar technology. We should not forget that our development process hasn’t come to an end yet.

Therefore the world is maybe nothing else than a big lab. A very temporary pattern of time and existence. A very temporary interconnection of idea, form and matter. Maybe the very famous “meaning of life” doesn’t apply to a single person but rather to the whole species.

Maybe one single satellite of meaning – sent or configured by another intelligence (or on the basis of our own intelligence) – has been reconfiguring our understanding of meaning a 20,000 our 100,000 years ago.

An owl as a metaphor for self perception

In Time

Life is a strange happening. Human perception and cognition are strange as well. Our whole development, our cultures and societies are crazy. Now I am sitting in front of a computer. In the Middle Ages I probably would have been a monk – or a knight AND a monk – sitting in front of dozens of Greek, Latin, Arabian or Persian books to study the world and the phenomenas that surround us – as well as I am doing it today.

Time is a strange concept, it feels rather as a metaphor than something what is real – really real. What do I do now when I’m typing this text? Where do my thoughts come from? Why do they connect to an idea that becomes a sequence of #words, a sentence?

How do I know how you will understand this idea, this sentence? How do you know how I will understand your sentence in the way you thought it – or whichever structure formed it (your sentence)  before you saw it as an idea, before you went looking for pictures, ideas and metaphors inside your very own your mind in order to explain your temporary existence?

And now begin to see, that we as humans developed processes such as delegation because some individuals are capable of being a member of something we call “a government”. Or some people are able to build scientific or material or communicative infrastructures.

Begin to see, that human development is a very complicated thing which implies the application of many sophisticated material and social “technologies” and that there is no simple solution to the issue of equality.

Begin to see that almost any ideology that aims to achieve human equality is a temporary process which is driven by evolution and which very often creates inequality as a very result of its actions but also more equality regarding specific topics. Begin to see that without these movements we would experience almost no progress. Begin to understand that human motion is in many cases not based on human understanding but on processes that we still don’t understand nor can moderate or explain.

It appears as if history is something that is arranged by human cognition as a linear process of familiar and obviously known events while it actually is an almost unknown process which is the result of very complex relations and contexts.

Just imagine the infinite possibilities of potential and actual thoughts and the vast space of interpersonal connections that are possible at a certain moment in time and now think of how plain we sum it all up to this linear story that we call our history – in order to understand what actually happens to us, with us and through us. – A blinking cursor at the end of this sentence. And now at the end of this one. Progress.
