Truth, fake news, power, abuse and responsibility in time

Ok,

every person wakes up on one special day. Her or his consciousness begins to see the world with new eyes. Before the wake-up-process every human entity is subject to learning and listening but suddenly his or her mind begins to analyze things differently.

The mind begins to see things more clearly and understands that not every “truth” that hits the mind is actually true but only an opinion expressed by a temporary entity of expression. The mind understands that these people who try to tell you something can be wrong because it’s only their opinion. – And that it doesn’t matter if they belong to a huge corporation or institution because the fact that social entities or institutions are rich or big is not a proof that they are true and intelligent.

Of course such false information one is confronted with is less likely to come from sciences like physics or math than from fields which are much more subject to interpretation, ideology and subjectivity – such as politics, humanities or their derivatives like the popular press or media which – today – only and in very rare cases have the cognitive abilities to perform the tasks they are pretending to perform.

Fake News

Fake news are as old as humanity. These news have always been a usual tool of misinformation in order to achieve strategical goals. They were used by all parties that were involved in a conflict at all times. And in many cases the one who loudly shouts out “Fake!” is a propagator of misinformation oneself.

The term “Fake News” is something that we know from all those extinct kingdoms, as a form of manipulation used in all these wars humankind went through. Sometimes it’s the way old-fashioned intelligences that are not able to modify or transform their concepts of thinking use to helplessly express their forlornness in time. Sometimes it’s used by people who want to enforce new societal concepts to trick people into certain forms of behaviour or thinking.

That this term and the concept of this term is propagated so intensively over the recent years and today is an indicator that global political balance has become a little more instable. It is an indicator that things are subject to change and that traditional certainties regarding political systems, power distribution, alliances or stability are subject to reconfiguration.

Undoubtedly this is a form of evolutionary driven transformation based on massive technological revolutions and limited cognitive abilities of humans to moderate such periods of heavy shifts.

Thus, to shout “Fake!” is not only a form of manipulation but also a very strong indicator of helplessness. And if you begin to need to use this term as an argument, your own concept for the future may be pulpy and instable as well.

About the evolutionary reflection on cognitive human motion I

or: Why humans are automats

[and about the attempt to detect a tiny bay or home for the reason of human existence in the endless universe:]

Copyism

The evolutionary reflection on cognitive human motion is based on different methods. The basic method is automatism. Automatism means that babies, children or even young kids behave on the basis of the genetically programmed algorithms that are part of their brains. They cry/yell for food, safety, warmth or fundamental education.

a baby that is taken care of

Fundamental education is closely connected to another method which can be described as copyism. Copyism means that a mind which roughly began to be aware of itself and its sensors begins to copy the behaviour of its surrounding. The sensors of a mind help the mind to begin to understand itself as an entity through the information that is being processed by the mind. We don’t know how, but this way (human) entities begin to develop awareness and – following this – a consciousness.

There is no culture and nature, there is only culture or nature and both are the same

At this time we presume that the mind can only perceive the things that it is sensing and that it will develop an interconnected synaptic brain that only reflects the perceptions of its biological (and its electronical) sensors.

Well, without any other ingredients this is already a situation in which evolution is programming the human mind. A newborn will see the city or the technology around itself with unbiased eyes. It will scent the smell of a city or its surrounding without knowing about other scents, about scents that were in the air in the same part of the same city – but 200 years ago.

stacked stones on a mountain

This way the brain of the newborn will be codified and shaped by the perceptions, experiences, morals, qualities and characters of the time that it was born into. The new mind won’t share the fears or thoughts of the preceding generations (or only partially) but will develop its very own new perspectives. New states of the evolutionary development will be processed on a mostly unbiased basis which means that products created and made by a predecessor can be cognitively analyzed in a fresh and independent manner. Using this method or technology evolution has established a possibility to change its direction in a very fast and effective way.

The cognitive brain of the newborn is reflecting the temporary state of evolution and this temporary state is not human-made because the structure of the brain determines what can be thought and developed and our consciousness has probably no access to this structure because it is created by this structure.

A new human being will almost always “decide” – or better: act or behave intuitively on the basis of these early programmings of its own brain throughout its whole life.

Nature is atom bombs

During the process of civilisational development philosophers and humanities came up with the idea of a difference between culture and nature. They said culture is something that exceeds nature because nature is slower than the human mind and thus humans are dominating nature – humans can kill animals and fell trees and therefore they are above nature.

Well, all living beings are transforming nature. Ants are shaping the forest floor and billions of other animals manipulate the vegetation all over the globe by eating it and spreading its seed. Nature consists of uncountable cultures – all the different cultures of different plants, trees, bacteria, viruses (!), animals – including humans – and many more.

A plant and a plant – one is green one is industrial – the same term is valid for both of them

Yes, it’s all nature and nature is not only “green” or “alive” or organic. Nature is also the winds and gravitation and magnetism and electrons. Nature also consists of stones and volcanos and stars like the sun with most probably no organic life on its surface. Nature can bring life and take life. Nature is everything. Nature is humans and deer, dark matter, fish, paramecium, cars and atom bombs, because atoms are life or not “life” – atoms form every plant in the open countryside that is blossoming and every plant that produces mobile phones – and nature is probably not distinguishing between any of these different surfaces or the limited cognitive perspectives of its temporary expressions.

Nature is independent motion and motion is one of the strongest principles known to us.

To interact with evolution

It is not yet understood how much human minds are able to interact with evolution and how far our cognitive minds can go to alter the evolutionary algorithm.

A human that is multioptional and using many media – Is he or she keeping its identity or is he or she vanishing in information?

A mind can be subject to emancipation or a so called independent development. Nevertheless it seems to be very clear that the evolutionary process cannot be altered because probably every input is an expected result of the stimulus that it was created by.  Thus, every new development is a development that can exist and develop itself in a completely free and new and open space – but without any possibility to move itself to the outside of the given frame that is defining our very universe because it is a part of the possible motion in space and all across time already.

Driven by the evolutionary algorithm

Maybe human history is a history of predefined patterns and we are just repetitive variations in an algorithmic “game” that strives for the most stable entity with the ability to perform the most transformative tasks (Darwin) on the basis of a permanently increasing cognitive performance and a maximized durable movement/motion in order to achieve something that we do not (yet) understand.

Questions create life – Two glowing questionmarks inside a pile of grey and almost forgotten historic question marks

Maybe our wars, our politics, our ideologies and everything that we are so! serious about were and are nothing else than only catalysts to set us up, make us leave our comfort zone and get us going. On and on and on (no matter if we are an organic or a non-organic lifeform/entity).

On Human Intelligence I

Or why intelligence doesn’t mean understanding

The difficulty of the term intelligence

There are more than just a few definitions of what intelligence might be. One thing is for sure: Intelligence is closely connected to evolution. No evolution, no intelligence. This may sound simple but it is not simple at all. To understand intelligence one has to understand progress, transformation, reconfiguration and: evolution.

Some scientists say that pure organic life as itself is intelligence. You can’t deny this. A survivable lifeform has to be of at least some intelligence even if it is not able to consciously sense  this intelligence itself – like e.g. the paramecium. These lifeforms are able to re-act / respond to external stimuli and can change their internal structure according to these stimuli, they even can move to a certain direction after the stimulus although they are in no way able to understand why they are behaving like this. They are not aware of themselves or the reason behind their actions; the simple sensory / chemical “satisfaction” is strong enough to reconfigure their everything. They act intelligently but not consciously. Thus, some biological lifeforms can be addressed as intelligent while at the same time they can be addressed as being totally stupid.

Human Intelligence

All of these simple lifeforms – like all lifeforms – are subject to external stimuli and there is no species and no kind which is not reacting to the processes taking place in their environment.

A kind of dinosaur | Eine Art Dinosaurier

There is something like an automated behaviour implemented into every neural system and every cognitive system which influences every single biological species and entity present on earth. – One reason why evolution as the relevant process that is permanently transforming the infrastructure of neural systems is closely connected to what we call intelligence.

In many ways human understanding of processes here on earth is based on a system of relevant truths that is based on a system of a stable structure of reliable chemical interrelations.

Probably since the very beginning of such a thing as civilization we are living with a very stout reference system of hierarchies, biographical traditions, daily conventions and the thought that this must be the ongoing process of the world. Apparently, this was the most comfortable idea of understanding that our anchestors were able to deal with regarding the unknown and the very often very strange idea of life and the permanently evolving material and social environments they became aware of.

And this probably is why some members of the group of responsible and intellectual thinkers came up with the idea of “the universe” – a structure or infrastructure which consists of everything that happens, everything that exists and everything that is going on – a space in which everything that can be thought and everything that can be experienced lives and exists in.

A tree, the moon, the universe

Even many centuries after the shaping of the very basic ideas of intelligence, laws, the organisation of social systems and the establishment of arts and communications, humans still keep the very basic forms of (animalistic) organizational intersubjectivity – which always is establishing a group of people on top of it all  (in communism, capitalism and whatever -ism) – alive.

Well, yes, some people are feeling well when being responsible for societies while others are not. But at the same time it still happens that figures like terrorism, poverty or hate are used to explain the world – although terrorism can be dispersed, poverty can be neutralized and hate can be moderated.

Like in many centuries before, things will take time and haters from all sides need to be silenced by more inspired, more inventive, more progressive and more convincing voices.

Why intelligence remains to be a difficult term

There are many processes in the world that even the most intelligent and educated people do not understand. Life on earth will remain to be subject to transformation and change. Things that we took for granted yesterday will disappear over time. New societal structures will be established and new technologies will arise. It is not clear to what degree human intelligence can influence these changes and transformations.

A human mind will always be subject to its environment and will probably never be able to act independently from the information that creates and establishes its neuronal brain infrastructure (although cognitive approaches of the mind in itself may be strong enough to initiate self-reconfiguration). But as a very clear matter of fact people cannot act independently from their brain infrastructure – no matter where in society they are located or situated.

So, isn’t it confusing that we always think that every step or action of us is done or taken willingly, consciously – while at the same time we almost have no influence on the way our brains are programmed (neuronally wired) in the first years of our lifes? The brain is eating the information it gets. What – later in our lifes – becomes our character is created by the accidental words, situations, parents, teachers, the humans that are surrounding us and so forth; simply the information that our senses perceive in order to wire the cerebral infrastructure in our brains.

Performance

We do not know how many of our actions are planned or developed by ourselves and how much of it all is just a result of automated brain processes which create our actions on the basis of the information our brains have eaten over our lifetimes (including the life of our anchestors and the information they received and the information they have transferred to us).

And maybe they have transferred only a tiny bit of their knowledge and maybe the situation here on planet earth has considerably changed from then to now. And maybe a cognitive tradition of handing over information and experiences to a next generation changes to an emotional tradition of storytelling or a psychotherapeutical way of understanding – which means that things can be understood in a completely different way and that hate can be formed and created from a certain figuration of understanding and life that has not contained any hate before.

This is also the reason why some structures simply do not perform in the way they were intended to: they operate below the level of reconfiguration that is needed to achieve the next intellectual stage of developement. (in a sufficient neuronally connective / connectual way of performance). Many scientists – male and female – only observe their ideas in the temporal nearfield of their own random perception instead of accepting contrary imaginations or analyses as a part of the genuine scientific process.

And now think of society: Probably 80 percent of everything that happens – of everything we create and of everything we do, is a result of automated brain-based processings that we do not influence at all. Our human brains probably have a much better capability to consciously analyze the things we perceive than to consciously create them.

Think of yourself being angry about something, think of yourself yelling at someone. Probably up to 80 percent of your anger or your yelling is a result of a wiring of your brain that you had no influence on at all.

Human, serious, thinking

The informational brain infrastructure is probably defining almost everything what a human being can think, develop or express. Thus, every human vector in society is subject to biology, information, perception and intellectual finiteness and evolution is probably much more relevant to our lifes – as a basic informational process of reconfiguration – than we think.

We are very closely related to the informational structures in our brains. – It may be a very open perceptive system, so that some people are able to adopt and adapt to new information very fast (while others are not). But finally we as organic structures are still subject to permanent evolution which also – through us – is reconfiguring matter (we call it „technology“ > plastics, silicon, ores and so on) and societal interrelations and interdependencies and this way: future.

sports race competition

About a very basis of evolutionary competition

In order to address always the right people, evolution is always addressing different people of different ages, gender and imaginations at the same time.

This is a very efficient mode of progressive transformation. The more people are fighting against each other the more successful a basic algorithm of evolution is – up to a point.

In a Darwinian way one cay say: The more inspirired people want to kill (abuse, condemn, hate etc.) each other the more efficient is the algorithm – up to a point.

Maybe one day a person might publish the thesis that more than 90% of all conflicts are not for the benefit of humans but for the benefit of the evolutionary algorithm.

Until now we still do not know the difference between the evolutionary algorithm and our human consciousness. But many of us agree that we should try to calm the killing algorithm. And that this is a relevant project.

Thus far, our perception is almost vague, but very creative and very sustainable – if you take our development through the centuries into account.

And maybe the evolutionary algorithm and the development of humankind are paradoxically interwoven. A more intelligent species might develop an idea for a more peaceful interconnection of this strange couple one day.

So, this our path and – partially – the science fiction movies that we create are really sending us our way. This is why the terms “to foresee” or “to anticipate” are actual terms – actually belonging to our language.

Patterns, Muster, Sich in sich wiederholende Figurelemente

patterns

A pattern is something that can be reidentified by the brain because the brain has seen or heard or touched or smelled it before.  A pattern can consist of certain behavioural sequences, a combination of visual stimuli or a combination of some molecules – when it comes to taste or smell. The world is a pattern-based entity – especially the world that is perceived by humans.

We as humans do act or re-act on the basis of patterns. Sometimes we call it behaviour or even “consciousness”, sometimes we call it life. Maybe our thoughts, our consciousnesses and our perceptions are real. – We do not know ANYTHING about it. It is a matter of fact that we actually do influence how things develop. But it is not clear if we actually do know or design anything about it. Maybe we are only observers. Observing the motion of the influencing entities we were born into.
